What Is Digital Scrapbooking?

Digital Scrapbooking is the art of preserving memories using image editing sofware to create layouts that display photos and other memories. Layouts can be shared onlilne burned to a CD or DVD, or printed & placed in albums. Digital scrapbooks are similar to traditional scrapbooks in that they showcase photos by use of interesting designs and elements.

What do I need to get started?

If you own a digital camera and do any type of photo editing you most likely already own one of the image editing software packages on the market, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Ulead Photo Impact, or Microsoft Digital Image Pro. Just to name a few. You will also need:

• A computer with atleast 256KB RAM, Mac or Windows operating system.
• Photos available to you on your computer, either by scanning or by importing digital files.
• Optional: A scanner to scan in photos and othere memorabelia.
• Optional: A printer to print out your digital layauts.
